Nebraska Counts is a coalition of nonpartisan nonprofit organizations who serve thousands of fellow Nebraskans across the state. Nebraska is one of 2 states that does not have a statewide Complete Count Committee, a best practice recommended by the U.S. Census Bureau. We are bridging this gap by using our extensive contacts and volunteer networks to ensure that every person in Nebraska is counted by the 2020 census.
Our goals
Working with diverse stakeholders and government agencies to ensure a full, fair, and accurate 2020 count in Nebraska.
Avoiding duplication of outreach efforts and maximize limited resources.
Developing a statewide education and outreach plan for hard to count communities.
Building a collaborative budget for this outreach and working with other local Complete Count Committee efforts.
Strengthening local nonprofit organizations' internal capacities and external influence through grantmaking and collaboration.
Building a robust and meaningful network of diverse leaders from all corners of our communities.
